Two Arrested in Tirupattur for Burglary Amid Rising Local Crime Concerns
Two individuals, G. Nagaraj, 60, and B. Vaishnavi, 26, were apprehended for the theft of 45 sovereigns of gold jewellery, two kg of silver objects, and ₹15,000 in cash from the residence of a retired government school teacher, K. Manohar, in Tirupattur. The incident occurred while the victim and his wife were away visiting relatives in Chennai. Upon their return, they discovered the valuables missing and the gold earrings scattered on the floor.
Police investigation initiated shortly after the couple reported the theft included securing evidence such as damaged CCTV footage and fingerprint analysis. Superintendent of Police Shymala Devi directed the formation of special teams to pursue the case. Through the meticulous examination of CCTV footage and mobile phone signal tracing, law enforcement identified the suspects loitering in the vicinity on the day of the crime, leading to their eventual arrest in KGF Colony, Karnataka.
Both suspects are now held at the sub-jail in Tirupattur as the police conduct further inquiries. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities process additional evidence and seek to understand the full circumstances surrounding the crime.
