Vikas Khemani-Backed Q-Line Biotech IPO Sees Over 2x Subscription on Day 1 Amid Soaring GMP of 42%
Q-Line Biotech, supported by Vikas Khemani, launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on Wednesday, aiming to raise up to Rs 214.48 crore via the NSE Emerge platform. The offering includes 62.53 lakh equity shares priced between Rs 326 and Rs 343 each. The IPO’s early sentiment in the grey market indicates robust investor interest, with a strong GMP of 42% above the issue price. On its inaugural day, the IPO was oversubscribed more than two times, with the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) segment heavily participating, booking over three times its allocation. Retail investors also showed significant engagement, with their quota subscribed just over two times.
Q-Line Biotech is known for its products in the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) sector, which includes diagnostic reagents, rapid testing kits, and molecular diagnostics products among other healthcare solutions. The proceeds from the IPO are earmarked mainly for working capital, repayment of borrowings, and general corporate purposes. Founded in 2013, the company has expanded its offerings, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, by developing various testing products. This strategic diversification has allowed the firm to leverage its R&D capabilities and establish a strong market presence over 12 years.
From an investment perspective, the listing of Q-Line Biotech on the NSE Emerge platform signifies an encouraging trend for Indian investors in the healthcare sector. The good response from both institutional and retail investors reflects confidence in the company’s growth potential amid increasing demand for healthcare diagnostics in India. As such, this IPO not only offers a potential upside through price appreciation but also highlights the growing role of biotechnology and healthcare solutions in the Indian economy, making it a noteworthy addition to investors’ portfolios.
